Welcome to 2008
Jan 1st, 2008 by Cheng Chen

Feed Elite LogoAnd so like many other blogs around the Internet, we are also celebrating the new year! And also like every other speech out there, we could say how we will “await a fantastic new year” or how it’s time “for a new era of humanity” or any other cliché and pompous phrase. However, we’re realistic and we’re multicultural (which, by the way, has nothing to do with anything) and thus are just going to say something more contemporary and realistic.

First all, we’d like to announce that Feed Elite is of course expanding and we will be covering many more areas in our amazing posts of expertise. There’s will be new articles regarding productivity not just in the Microsoft Windows OS environment, but also in other fields such as Mac OS X, Linux, and even Palm OS! In addition, we will try our best to publish more resources regarding benefits to our actual non-virtual lives. Isn’t that something? We trying not to be like the Tech-Blog-Next-Door

Apple BSOD IconIn the mean time, people are pissed off (I mean angry at) Apple’s BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) icon for a Windows PC, Global Warming is ever becoming a problem while Global Ice Age also is occurring, everyone’s all wrapped up in the new “Green” Movement while our industries are expanding more than ever, and oh so much more issues.Industrial Pollution

Beijing 2008 Olympics LogoAlso, did I forget to mention that 2008 brings the XXIX Olympics at Beijing, China! Because the Chinese people like the number 8 (8 in Chinese is phonetically similar to the character of “Prosper” or more like “Cash-in”), they’ve decided to start the games at 8-08-2008. Oh! Can you just imagine the amount of young lovers waiting to get married that day.

Anyways, happy new year and shall we bid farewell to 2007 and welcome 2008 with our hearts and minds open.

Firefox 3 BETA 1 Has Been Released
Nov 21st, 2007 by Cheng Chen

Firefox 3 Beta 1Firefox 3, code named Gran Paradiso, has now released its first BETA, not ALPHA versions. This testing browser is available cross-platform for Windows, Mac, and Linux users. New features include:

  • Plug-in manager for applications such as web based flash and media players
  • Places Organizer updates the Bookmark
  • Better Phishing alerts
  • Stars to help you determine and organize websites, similar to Googl-like stars
  • The Bookmarks are directly in sync with the Stars
  • Better, tweaked Notification
  • Customize the default action of certain application links
  • Saved Places allows quick views of recent events

And etcetera etc…

However, remember, this is a BETA version. Although it is a bit more stable than the previous ALPHA versions of Firefox 3 Gran Paradiso, it still tends to be cranky. Therefore, don’t be surprised if Gran Paradiso is unstable or randomly crashes/freezes.

By combining GrandCentral and Gizmo Project together, you can now send/dial and receive calls from your computer for absolutely free. These phone calls can also be sent anomalously from your PC! This is more or less a hack for Gizmo through GrandCentral. Here’s how to send and receive calls free from your computer with Grand Central and Gizmo:

  • First, you need a Gizmo Project account. Download Gizmo at the Gizmo Project Download page: LINK
  • Then, install Gizmo for your computer (Compatible with Windows, Mac, or Linux) and create a new Gizmo account.

When you create a Gizmo account, an automatic SIP number is assigned to your account. Gizmo Project uses the SIP Phone service to handle its calling procedure. Your SIP account number is the key to receiving and sending free calls. Here is how to get your Gizmo SIP number: (READ ON TO LEARN HOW TO RECEIVE AND CALL OUT FROM YOUR COMPUTER FOR FREE!) Crack Windows Login Account Password
Aug 16th, 2007 by Cheng Chen

For educational purposes only! These set of instructions on instructables.com tell of a way to crack windows passwords. You know, the log in password of your neighbor- no I mean the password that you, um, lost the other day… Basically, it uses a Linux distro (Slax, I believe) with its special software. The software is called Ophcrack, which is part of this Linux distro. The cd itself is a live cd which means you boot up with it. After boot, the applications in this cd automatically scans your computer for passwords of log in accounts (SAM Files) and then displays them for you. This means that you do not have to reset any passwords. You can actually view the old password that you… lost… This should be very helpful whenever you loose your password because we just happen to loose our windows account log in passwords all the time ;-)
