Like the previously mentioned Zamzar and MediaConverter, You Convert it is another great web based application for converting media files and much more. It takes conversion a step higher by allowing not just media conversions, but also direct file sharing, unlimited single upload size, and also a nifty unit measurement converter.
Almost all the media and document file types are supported. This includes those for the PSP, iPod, iPhone, MP3 players, 3GP phones, PDF files, etc. English and Metric unit conversions are also supported, including volumetric, area, acceleration, torque, force, mass, velocity, etc.
You Convert it is a great free web application for those seeking a quick conversion with out the hassle of downloading any software or program. The process exists right on your browser but happens through their servers. It is great for making all your different documents, videos, music, pictures, and units be compatible with each other. Notice, however, that this application is in BETA, so it is not without flaws. Cheers!

For those seeking portable applications, operating systems, or software/programs, Mojo Pac is the king on the hill. Rather than launching an application like the Portable Apps Launcher or U3 launcher bar, MojoPac actually runs a new instance of a compressed Windows XP Operating System. Basically, once MojoPac starts to run in full screen, a new GUI (Graphical User Interface) initiates as a new instance of Windows XP. In this instance, all the data of the operating system lies withing your USB drive. You can virtualize most of the software and applications that you use in your normal Windows OS. In this sense, MojoPac is extremely special because not only does it allow you to run any application with portability, it runs them with its own version of Windows XP. The current cost for the MojoPac Freedom edition is FREE so download it quickly. The Deluxe edition is $30, but really we don’t need its expensive features. Basically, running MojoPac is like running your Windows XP withing another Windows XP. MojoPac can be installed on most memory devices including USB flash drives, iPods, external hard drives, etc.

Like the previously mentioned vixy.net, vConvert.net also offers free online YouTube video conversions. Basically, you enter the YouTube URL and then choose the type of output. Convert options include: Windows (.wmv); Mac (.mov); iPod, PSP, iPhone (.mov); Mobile Cell Phone/Device (.3pg); Audio/Music (.mp3); and Flash (.flv). After choosing the convert mode, you simply press the “Convert and Download” button. The server will convert the YouTube video into your output choice and then present your converted video with a nice download. This is just like vixy.net… So write us a response and tell us what you think. Do you prefer vixy or vConvert?

Pascal Beyeler brings us 3 great free applications for us to use online: the previously mentioned mediaconverter.org, temporaryinbox.com, and mediapirate.org.
As mentioned before, Media Converter is an online application that converts media files from one format to another. It can convert uploaded media into different types, such as for iPod and PSP, and can convert YouTube videos. In addition, mediaconverter.org offers a downloadable version of its sleek software. This is all free! Temporary Inbox is quite different. It is a spam-fighting, disposable email address creator that can make a temporary email inbox. It allows users to avoid spam that can occur from forced email submissions, forward emails to your real account and control what is received, and of course many other unmentioned usages. Again, it is all free! Media Pirate is a bit similar to Media Converter. It allows users to retrieve video files from many different internet web addresses. By going to mediapirate.org, you can enter the url in which a video is located at. During the processing, mediapirate.org finds the source of the video file and then presents it for you to download. In addition, Media Pirate is featured as a Firefox extension. This is quite useful for those who uses Firefox. Once again, it’s free.
Mediaconverter.org and Zamzar.com introduce a brand new way to convert files without downloading any software. You can now convert files ranging from documents to videos by uploading your files and retrieving the converted files from your email. These two websites are web applications that run from their servers to convert the files. Files can be converted to many types of media including types for the iPod and PSP. Zamzar.com even accepts URLs for your files: perfect for downloading Youtube videos. Mediaconverter.org also offers a downloadable converter with a sleek design. And the best thing of all—it’s all free. I use them often to convert my music, videos, and many other files.
